Reno sits near 4,400 feet, Carson City near 4,800 and Glenbrook on the Tahoe shore at 6,350, so the same month means different things at different addresses. For example, Glenbrook's April mean temperature of 40.6 F equals the Reno airport's February mean. Each page names the stations it uses and says what the weather means for trees, fire and snow.

Questions people ask
Still have a question? Call 775.232.8243. Phones are answered seven days a week.
Why does the calendar use five weather stations?
Elevation changes the season. The Reno airport sits at 4,410 feet, Carson City at 4,761, Minden at 4,709, Glenbrook on the Tahoe shore at 6,350 and Fallon at 3,965, so one set of dates would be wrong for most of them.
Which stations publish snowfall?
Reno airport, Carson City, Minden and Fallon do. NOAA publishes no snowfall normal for Glenbrook, so the month pages say so.
Are these normals what my yard gets?
No. They are 1991-2020 station normals, not town averages. Use them to compare months and places, and ask an arborist about your own trees.
