What the policy is
It is the same line we give on our own FAQ: existing clients come first after severe storms, and anyone in need can still be served. A storm that brings down trees across a valley produces many calls at once, and no tree company can reach all of them together. Having an existing relationship moves you earlier in the order. It does not guarantee a time.
What we do not promise
We do not promise an arrival time, because conditions, the number of calls and your location all change it. What we can say is that the phone line is staffed seven days a week and emergency service is available 24 hours a day at 775.232.8243. Messages are returned within 8 hours. See the emergencies and storms questions for the rest.
If you are not yet a customer
Call. Describe the situation clearly, including what is down, what it is touching and whether anyone is hurt. Then keep your phone line free, because the office may call back. Be patient on a busy day. A call from a new customer after a storm is a normal call for us.
Safety does not wait for a crew
While you wait, keep everyone away from the tree. Call 911 if anyone is hurt. If a power line is involved, stay away and call NV Energy before anything else. Do not cut a loaded limb yourself; see should I cut up a fallen tree myself. To make the first call quick, read what to have ready when you call.
Preparing before the storm
Having your trees looked at in calm weather is the best preparation; storm priority goes to existing clients. A free estimate and a plan for the trees near your house mean the worst limbs can be dealt with before anything breaks. We do not promise a time. See arborist consultation and preparing trees for downslope winds.
