Emergency tree service in Dayton, NV

Emergency tree service in Dayton starts closer than anywhere else we serve outside Carson City: Battle Born Tree Service's yard is on US Highway 50 East, about 7 miles and about 12 minutes from Dayton without traffic, and the emergency line at 775.232.8243 is open 24 hours a day. Call 911 for any injury, and if a power line is down or in the tree, stay away from it and call NV Energy.

Our yard sits on the Dayton side of Carson City, on the same highway that runs through the middle of town. Dayton has two kinds of tree: young ones in the subdivisions built since 2000, and big old ones in the historic town and along the Carson River.

  • Fully insured; Nevada Business License # 20131580674

Why is Dayton the short trip?

Battle Born Tree Service's office and equipment yard are at 6301 US Highway 50 East, on the east edge of Carson City. Dayton is the next town down that highway: about 7 miles and about 12 minutes without traffic. The crane, the 75-foot boom truck, the chipper and the loaders leave from there.

That is a distance, not a promise. In a regional windstorm every tree company is busy, and our existing clients are served first. But for a Dayton address, the drive is the small part.

Two Daytons, two kinds of call

About 56% of Dayton's homes have been built since 2000, and only about 10% date from before 1980 (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024). In the newer neighborhoods on both sides of US 50, yard trees are mostly young. Storm damage there means snapped leaders, split young trunks and trees pushed over at the roots. It is seldom dangerous, but a tree leaning on a fence or a car still needs to come off properly.

The old town near the river is another matter. Cottonwoods along the Carson River grow very large and shed heavy limbs. If one is on a roof or hung up overhead, it is crane or boom truck work. Cottonwoods: keep, prune or remove explains the choices once the emergency is over.

What to do while you wait

  1. Call 911 if someone is hurt.
  2. If a wire is involved, call NV Energy. Keep everyone back from the tree and from any metal fence it touches.
  3. Leave the rooms under the tree and stay off the roof.
  4. Keep vehicles from driving under a hanging limb, in your driveway or the street.
  5. Take photos from a distance and call 775.232.8243.

Wind on the open side of the valley

The USDA Forest Service rates Dayton's wildfire risk to homes higher than 98.9% of US communities. Wind is a large part of fire weather, and it breaks trees too. Dead tops and long, unpruned limbs go first. Preparing your trees for downslope winds covers what can be done ahead of the season.

What we handle, and what comes next

Emergency service covers removing trees from houses, clearing roads and driveways, pruning or removing trees that could cause injury or more damage, and hauling off the debris. Afterward, a young tree may need corrective pruning or replacing, and an old one may need dead wood removed. The arborist will tell you which during the free estimate.
