Emergency tree service in Indian Hills, NV

Emergency tree service in Indian Hills comes from just up the road: Battle Born Tree Service's yard is about 10 miles and about 15 minutes away without traffic, and emergencies are taken 24 hours a day at 775.232.8243. As always, 911 comes first for an injury, and NV Energy comes first when a power line is touching the tree, with everyone kept well away.

Indian Hills is the first Douglas County community south of the Carson City line, a hillside neighborhood above US 395 and Jacks Valley. For our crew it is one of the nearest places outside the capital, and its weather is Carson City's weather.

At a glance

  • About 10 miles and 15 minutes from the yard, without traffic
  • Carson City weather station, under 3 miles away: 14.0 inches of snowfall a year
  • About a third of buildings sit in or beside wildland vegetation
  • Voted First Place, Best Tree Service, Nevada Appeal Best of Carson City, 2018 through 2025

How close is help?

Our office and yard are at 6301 US Highway 50 East in Carson City. Indian Hills is about 10 miles from there, about 15 minutes without traffic. We do not promise arrival times, because a storm that breaks your tree is breaking others, and after severe storms existing clients are first in line. But distance is not what will slow an Indian Hills call.

The same nearness helps after the emergency. A second visit for the stump or for the other trees is an ordinary local job.

What kind of tree trouble does the hill get?

Indian Hills is a mix. The median home was built in 1995, about a quarter are older than 1980 and more than a third are newer than 2000 (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024). About 7% are manufactured homes. So one street has thirty-year-old trees over the roofline and the next has young ones still on stakes.

The USDA Forest Service places about a third of the community's buildings, 33.5%, in the direct exposure zone, in or next to wildland vegetation. Those are the homes along the edges, where brush and native trees on the slope meet the back fence. Up on the slope the wind has little to stop it.

Carson City's numbers apply here

The Carson City weather station is under three miles away at almost the same elevation. Its 1991-2020 normals are 9.34 inches of precipitation and 14.0 inches of snowfall a year, with an average winter low of 25.0 degrees. That is not a lot of snow, which is the point: trees here are not shaped by regular heavy loads, so the occasional wet storm finds every weak fork at once.

What should you do right now?

Right now: call 911 if anyone is hurt, call NV Energy and keep back if wires are involved, clear the rooms under the tree, do not cut, then photograph it from a distance and call 775.232.8243.

  1. Hurt or trapped: call 911.
  2. Wires down, sparking or under the tree: call NV Energy and keep back. Do not touch the tree, the fence or a vehicle it is lying on.
  3. Clear the rooms under the tree and keep people out of the yard beneath any hanging limb.
  4. Do not cut. A limb under load can spring or roll.
  5. Photograph it from a distance and call 775.232.8243.

What the crew does

Tree and limb removal, stabilization of a damaged tree where it has to be held, safety assessment and inspection, clearing the driveway, and collection and disposal of the debris. A tree resting on a roof is lifted off with the crane. The emergency tree service page has the full list, and our equipment shows the fleet.
