Towns we serve in the Carson City area
This is our home market. Nevada Appeal readers have voted Battle Born first place, Best Tree Service, in the Best of Carson City poll every year from 2018 through 2025.
Old trees on the west side, open lots on the east
About half of Carson City's homes were built before 1980, and in the west-side ZIP code 89703 about 13% were built before 1960 (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024). Streets that old carry large, mature trees close to houses, where removals and heavy pruning need a crane or a boom truck.
East toward Mound House the lots open up and the work turns to brush, lot clearing and trees along fence lines.
Fire is the other half of the job here
The USDA Forest Service rates Carson City's wildfire risk to homes higher than 98.5% of communities in the United States. The 2004 Waterfall Fire, mapped at 8,765 acres, burned on the city's west side. Defensible space work along the foothills is a large share of what we do in spring and early summer.
Weather the trees live with
The Carson City weather station records about 9.3 inches of precipitation and 14 inches of snow in a normal year (NOAA 1991-2020 normals). Most trees in town depend on irrigation, and wet spring snow breaks limbs on trees that have not been pruned.
