Removal is the right call when a tree is dead, decaying, damaged or crowding a building. Our arborists help you make that decision, and they do not recommend taking down a large tree on your own. It is risky and dangerous work.

## Signs a tree may need to come out

- Signs of decay, or damage from a storm
- Dead or dying branches through the crown
- Roots or branches growing too close to the house, pipes or septic tank
- Cracks in the trunk
- Signs of disease or insect infestation

Some signs are easier to spot than others. A certified arborist has a trained eye for underlying problems such as interior decay.

## What happens to the stump

When a tree is cut down you are left with a stump, which can be a hazard. Stump grinding removes it from the ground and keeps new growth from coming up from the roots, so you can plant grass, shrubs or a new tree. Estimates are tailored to each client, so tell the arborist if you want the stump ground.

### How do I know if my tree needs to be removed?

The most common reasons are decay and damage. If you are not sure, have a certified arborist look at it. The estimate is free.

### Can I remove a large tree myself?

We do not recommend it. Large tree removal is risky and dangerous.

### Do you remove fruit trees and small trees too?

Yes. From a large cottonwood to a fruit tree, we remove trees of any size.
