# Do you remove small trees, or only large ones?

We remove both. Small and large tree removal is on our service list, and the arborist chooses the method and the equipment after seeing the tree and the site.

## Size is only part of the job

A small tree in an open yard may need little more than a crew, a chainsaw and a chipper. A small tree squeezed between a fence and a roofline, or sitting over a buried line, is a different job from the same tree in a field. The site matters as much as the trunk.

That is why the first step is the free estimate. The arborist looks at what the tree is, what it could hit, how a crew gets in and what has to be protected.

## What we have on hand

For small trees the work is mostly hand tools and a chipper, with the 2017 Ford F550 utility and chip truck close by. For large or awkward trees the company owns a crane and a 75-foot Altec GMC boom truck, plus a 2014 Bobcat T870 track loader and dump trucks for the cleanup. The arborist picks what fits, so you do not pay for gear the job does not need.

## When a small tree is worth a call

Dead, split or storm-damaged small trees, saplings growing against a foundation or sewer line, and trees the wrong species for the spot are all common reasons to call. If you are unsure whether it needs to come out at all, say so; some trees only need pruning and the arborist will tell you which.

Small trees also get removed in batches. Several young trees along a fence, a row of failed saplings or a stand of overgrown brush can be written into one estimate, and the same crew handles the chipping. If the job is clearing a lot, the masticating head and brush mower on the company's list may be a better fit than felling tree by tree, and the arborist will say so. Tell the office the count, the rough size and what is nearby, and ask for it all to be listed clearly.
