# Will the crane damage my yard?

The point of the method is less impact on the surroundings, but any heavy equipment on a lot needs planning. The arborist picks the crane's setup spot and the drop zone at the visit.

## How the crane works on your lot

According to our own process description, the crew chooses a setup location and places the outriggers, a climber attaches the crane at the cut point, the operator takes the weight and the piece is flown to the drop zone. Pieces travel through the air instead of across the landscaping, which is what limits the impact.

## Where damage can still happen

Outriggers concentrate a heavy load on small pads, and soft ground, an old driveway slab, a buried line or a septic system can be affected by weight. That is why the setup spot matters. Ask about driveways, lawns, irrigation and anything buried, and point them out at the visit. Pads under the outriggers are a common way to spread load; ask the arborist what is planned for yours.

## What customers wrote

A reviewer described a pine about 50 feet tall over a house: "a crane arrived and they separated the tree in several pieces and air lifted it up over the house" (Richard V., Google review). That is one customer's job. We cannot promise your yard will be untouched without seeing it.

After the job, walk the site with the crew leader. Look at the lawn, beds, driveway and fence together, and raise anything you see before they leave. Photos from before and after help both sides. If something shows up later, such as a soft spot or a cracked edge, call the office at [775.232.8243](tel:775.232.8243) and describe it. The phone line is staffed seven days a week, and messages are returned within 8 hours. Tell the office if the lawn has just been seeded or sodded, or if the sprinklers have been running, since soft ground changes where the outriggers should go.
